so, things are a lot better. after some heart to hearts with my mommy on the phone, bawling my eyes out walking to central, crying a lot at other various times, bitching to greg on the phone, and venting to just about any one who would listen, i feel way less upset. the emotional aspect is pretty consistant right now, so i guess i should write about another aspect of college.
i absofuckingloutely love my classes. one of my favorite parts about being here is actually the time i spend in the classroom. am i gigantic nerd, or what? my art history class is really easy because i know everything. it's a basic class on how to analyze art. i got a 4 on the AP art history test, i know what he's going to say in lecture even before he says it. this doesn't make the class less enjoyable. infact, i feel rather smart. it's cool. polisci is really great too. my professor is a middle eastern canadian man with a ridiculous accent and silly personality. the class about comparative politics, so i'm learning a lot about regimes, states, political socialization, liberal/illiberal democracies, etc. it's so interesting. i can't wait til we get into depth of the 5 countries we're comparing. golden age of greece makes me so effing happy. my professor is HYSTERICAL. he's in his late 50s, over weight, and sings in a barber shop quartet. he plays music before every class. he swears often in his lectures. today he told us to drink instead of smoke because it takes longer to kill us -- that's quality. the content of the class is completely fascinating. i love 5th century greece. i'm really considering going to greece in january because there is a trip! it's quite possible. this class coincides greatly with my world of greek drama class. in this class we read plays. we just finished the aeschylus trilogy about agamemnon. so fucking GOOD. all we have to do is write a paper about how we felt about each of the plays. wicked nice. lastly, is my philosophy class, intro to logic. THIS PROFESSOR IS THE MOST GAUCHE/DRY MAN EVAR. but he is totally one of my favorites. he's hysterical and often makes this one kid in the front of the room chuckle ridiculously and then the whole room, all 150 kids, laugh at that one kid's laugh. the class itself is about the mathematics of an argument. it's called "symbolic logic." it's not very complex so far, but it's very interesting. i like it a whole lot.
so , yeah, i love my classes and the campus. i miss home. and some of the people are kinda lame.
I WENT SHOPPING TODAY AND IT WAS SO REFRESHING. i love shopping. and i love the holyoke mall.
i hung out with katy staley today. it was nice.
p.s. - i'll fuck you til the harvest
